Volumio Preciso is a high-performance standalone DAC engineered around a hyper-symmetrical dual-mono architecture, dual linear power regulation, precision MEMS clocking, and hardware gain control. It is designed to pair with Rivo, Rivo Plus, or any high-quality digital transport and can also operate directly into a power amplifier.
The Ultimate Expression of Precision
Preciso is built around two ESS Sabre ES9039Q2M DACs arranged in mirrored, isolated left and right channel paths. The design prioritizes channel separation, low crosstalk, signal-path symmetry, and stable clocking.
Hyper-Symmetrical Dual-Mono DAC Architecture
Each channel uses its own ESS ES9039Q2M DAC path, with carefully matched circuitry and component selection intended to preserve channel independence and minimize interference.
Dual Linear Power Architecture
Separate regulation for the analog and digital sections, combined with LC filtering, helps keep power-supply noise away from sensitive audio circuitry and supports consistent dynamic performance.
Precision Clocking and Digital Interfaces
A high-accuracy MEMS clock provides timing for the conversion stages, while a dedicated ASIC USB interface is used for bit-perfect data transfer and low-jitter operation. Preciso supports USB, I2S over HDMI, coaxial S/PDIF and optical S/PDIF inputs.
Preciso combines a dedicated ASIC USB controller for bit-perfect, ultra-low jitter transfer with the highest-grade operational amplifiers for exceptional analog performance.
Hardware Preamp Mode
Built-in hardware gain control provides volume adjustment from 0 dB to -99 dB, allowing Preciso to connect directly to a power amplifier when desired. Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs support a wide range of systems.
NOS Mode
Preciso supports switchable Non-Oversampling (NOS) mode in addition to eight selectable DAC filters, giving listeners multiple ways to tailor digital playback to their system and preferences.
Precision DAC & Rivo+ Compatibility
Preciso features a dual internal linear power supply with separate regulation for the analog and digital sub-systems, reducing interference and enhancing dynamic range. Shared with RIVO+, its dedicated USB ASIC ensures pristine data transfer, precise clocking, and optimal analog performance. Paired with Rivo+, Rivo, or any dedicated transport, Preciso completes a fully optimized digital chain. It can also be used as a preamp with hardware gain control for direct integration with power amplifiers.
