About Audio Solutions

The Audio Solutions Story

Owned and founded in 2011 autumn by a talented speaker engineer Gediminas Gaidelis, Audio Solutions speakers are produced and manufactured in Vilnius, Lithuania (EU).

Development of these fine speakers is a true challenge. We combine laws of physics with design, manufacturing stability and customers' needs to make perfect speakers. Even the smallest part is hand-crafted and inspected for any flaws.

Years of hard work and research are hidden behind this revealing short name - not only in the realm of achieving ideal sonic abilities, but also in practical realization of pioneering ideas.  Audio Solutions steps firmly into High-End territory.

Our primary differentiator?  ‘Extended Band Midrange’

The human ear has uneven sensitivity to different frequencies.  We are naturally less sensitive to high frequencies and even more so to low frequencies.  The exception lies with sensitivity to mid-frequencies in the 1000 – 2000Hz band range.  Simply put – in nature, the sounds of life-threatening events lie more or less within the 1000 – 2000Hz diapason, so naturally, we are the most sensitive to this range so that we stay alert.  The downside of this phenomenon in our safer modern world is that we can hear and pinpoint the slightest imperfections in the reproduced sound at these frequencies.  Imperfections in sound reproduction are referred to as distortions.

Most manufacturers calculate crossover points in exactly this area of 1000 – 2000Hz.  Since each driver has its natural spectrum of distortions, we can actually hear the transition from one driver to another, let alone any additional distortions caused by the crossover phase shift.  The resulting sound is described as unnatural or multi-way sound.  It is not possible to completely eliminate natural-born drivers’ distortions or the phase shift in a crossover which is mathematically to how dB/oct crossover is calculated.  The only way to fight this is to utilize crossover points away from this region of 1000 – 2000Hz. For that reason, we created an Extended Band Midrange driver.  Crossover points 400 – 4000Hz are one octave away from the sensitive band.  Not only does this solution help with crossover distortion perception, but, as well, the listener gets uniform, unchopped sound coming from each driver with virtually zero phase shift.
