The Vantage S (small) is the smallest floorstander of the range. The speakers front edge reaches only 104cm in height, giving the impression of a really small speaker which later increases upwards and reaches 121cm height at the back edge. Despite being small and, looking even smaller, they do give some serious punch. AudioSolutions has managed to push them to 112dBC level at a listening point 3m away from speakers in 55sq m room, and this was not achieved with a technical sine wave but rather with a genuine music recording possessing significant energy and thump. The speaker, looking like most of middle-sized floor standers, the Vantage S not only plays music in an extremely natural way, but also plays it in full scale and with full dynamic range.
FEATURES
The Vantage S is designed around a 5” wideband midrange driver, supported by a customized beryllium tweeter. Accompanied by an 8" down-firing aluminum cone subwoofer and two front firing 5.5” paper woofers; the company of five drivers per speaker makes the Vantage S small but mighty.
As a standard in AudioSolutions products, the mini horn is introduced here to enhance tweeter performance by lowering distortions and raising efficiency in critical regions.
The Vantage S is equipped with an adjustable crossover allowing you to make level corrections depending on your listening taste or simply to tame a room. Level corrections are limited to a 2.5db window, preventing any tonal disbalance but making a big impact if one needs to balance the speakers>audio equipment>room combo. The whole network is based solely on extremely low conductance resistors, meaning that only the sound level will change when a knob is turned.
The cabinet, decorated with a highly durable topcoat made from crushed stone and polyurethane lacquer, gives the speaker durability and a visual effect of matte surface with glittering particles. It's a very unique and stylish accent which gives off the look of broken stone pieces.
Never used before top-grade 3D vinyl is then used to decorate the back and cut-out of the sidewall. Concerns were raised about the durability of such material during the design phase, but damage tests proved that this material is actually tougher than any veneer, leather, or even paint.
